This print was inspired by my interest in the theories surrounding the year 2012. Some theories predict that the winter solstice of 2012 will be the end of the world because it coincides with the end of the Mayan calender. Other theories predict that this date will bring about a huge shift of consciousness around the world. I tried to combine these two ideas by using an optical shifting pattern in the background and by blending the numbers "2012" and the words "The End Is Near."
